Alphonse D’Amato’s career as a politician started with the Nassau County Republican Party. In 1970, he was public administrator for Hempstead, New York. In 1977 he became the town supervisor for the same locale.
In 1980, D’Amato was able to defeat Senator Jacob Javits in the Republican primary. Afterwards, he went on to win a seat in the U.S. senate. Having won 45% of the vote, Alphonse D’Amato defeated Democrat Elizabeth Holtzman and Javits.
As a senator Al D’Amato delivers constituent services, which supports citizens in individual cases. To add to his political positioning, the senator has also facilitated substantial productivity in the Long Island area of New York. Recognized for his conservative views, Mr. D’Amato supports common sense right wing principles. His popularity has significantly increased among all electorates as an outcome of his congruity and strength of position.
The increase in Alphonse D’Amato’s popularity can also be attributed to his support for the environment — the senator has lent a hand in furnishing Clean Green Space alongside instituting modes of high occupancy transportation. D’Amato also keeps tabs in the health care and bio-technology industries. His support of health care initiatives and bio-technology research has remarkably improved the communities in Nassau and Suffolk counties of New York.
